被稱為澳洲非官方的國歌
(uncle說 人在澳洲 一定要知道的一首歌)
(昨天聽uncle介紹完 我看課本時 驚覺課本裡也提到它~有這麼巧就對了)

歌曲背景是經濟大蕭條的年代(The Great Depression)
失業的男人,或是年輕男子為了不增加家庭的負擔
帶著一個睡袋(swag),一個煮水的錫桶(billy)就步行離家住在野外
也許會在途經的農場打工 通常只能換得三餐
這些人 被稱為Swagman
(swag, billy, swagman好像是澳洲特有名詞)

動畫故事版 (聲音較不清晰 但故事完整呈現 XD) 

 開頭有解釋一些澳洲特有的單字, 非常俏皮的版本

歌名"Waltzing Matilda"來自澳洲俚語,指的是背著行囊徒步行走的人.
(我uncle的解釋是~背著swag跳舞的人)

曲調頗輕快,然而它的大意是這樣
一個swagman偷了一隻羊,
羊的主人是有錢的土財主,帶著三個警察去抓他
以大地為家的他,不願被關在監牢裡
所以最後跳水自盡
如果經過那個水潭邊 也許還會聽到他說
"You'll come a Waltzing Matilda with me."
